Middle Wallop Aerotow

Some pics including last pic of the DG505 as it had a sad demise, falling from about 1200ft in a near vertical decent due to possible radio failure? 

Not enough of the model left intact to be sure of the actual cause, it was using 2.4 Spectrum system it released form the aerotow fine; I did a couple of 360 degree turns OK,  then it did not react to any inputs I made, there were not much left to determine the exact cause, but I did manage to check the battery and that was OK, also the transmitter voltage was OK

Malcolm was thermalling his Styker for a time and appeared to equal to my electric glider, very embarrassing

CB's 600 watt Fun jet did not seem too fast, an increase in cells should produce more smoke

Summer thermal, Sunday 25th Minchinhampton 11.00AM start
we are having problems towing, we will  try using bungees if the wind is very light

Strong lift at Frocester  not quite enough for Barry's Phase6 with the symmetrical wing

Huge thermal lift at Selsley, flying became an eyesight test. slope lift was nonexistent early afternoon but filled in later to give moderate slope lift, just enough to keep a zagi in the air

Saturday
Strong thermal lift at Minchinhampton but large gaps between areas of lift

Sunday 
A good morning at Frocester, lift was very light to start with and increased throughout the morning, All the light weights out flew my Pegase, which scratched round for 2 hours in the light lift.
