The comp took place on Minch common with 6 members taking part, the object was to fly as long as possible within a 10 minute slot, starting from the end of the motor run.  All the models were weighed and the motor input watts measured, the motor run time was calculated for each model,  weight in grams divided by power in watts X 6, this gave approximately the same launch height. Three rounds were flown split into two slots.

The conditions were not good being a bit windy especially for the lighter models, in the first round I launched my Highlite and it got caught by the wind and did a complete loop over my head Bryan T also had similar problems with his Highlight, Chris's model with 860 watts went up vertical and flew very well getting the best time of the evening with 9 minutes  48 seconds.

Round 3 slot 1 looked to be the decisive slot  with Phil and Chris both on 2000 points, Chris went ballistically  vertical for 11 seconds going almost out of sight in the fading light, Phil climbed slowly for 56 seconds eventually getting a good height. Both pushed forwards into the breeze to take advantage of the weak slope lift over Amberley, Phil's larger wings and lighter loading on his home brew model out lasted Chris's rather heavy Simprop Selection  to win  with a max score of 3000.
I think we all enjoyed the competition and thanks to Bryan who helped out by weighing all the models.
