Loosing it

I seem to be loosing it and most of my possessions lately

This was foretold by one of the lesser prophets

"And there shall in that time be rumors of things going astray, and there will be a great confusion as to where things really are, and nobody will really know where lieth those little things with the sort of raffia work base, that has an attachment…at this time, a friend shall lose his friend's hammer and the young shall not know where lieth the things possessed by their fathers that their fathers put there only just the night before around eight o’clock...

But later in The life of Brian we have this little song

  • Cheer up, Brian. You know what they say:
Some things in life are bad.
They can really make you mad.
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle,
    Don't grumble. Give a whistle.
And this'll help things turn out for the best. And...
    [music]
Always look on the bright side of life.

Perhaps if I took more time and put things in there right place I would not have so much trouble.
Phil

Buddy boxing the Taranis

I have a buddy lead to connect my Taranis to my Turnigy TX

To set up a buddy system on a Taranis  you need to configure  2 pages, it could be configured to regain control by moving the elevator stick to save holding the trainer switch by using a custom switch, but is a bit complicated

Below are the two screens you need, throttle would need to be from zero to the max thrust the student needs and the other values to suit depending on how clumsy they are

Hit the cal button to zero any off sets

The Turnigy turns on when the lead is plugged in

This is on You tube  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYVLNMBMI1E

Page two radio set up, only ch 2 is configured inthe image

Page 7 model set up

It would also be useful to set up alarms for height and decent rates to alert the instructor

it can also be configured with a wireless\ system

I have not tried connecting a JR or spektrum

I have my Easy glider set up with this, you can  try this on the flat or on the slope,  just phone I am about most afternoons

Taranis wrinkle
A taranis user complained there was not enough trim, I looked at the settings and extended trims was on, but very little trim.
the problem was the mixer settings, this was set at only 23%, I increased this to 46% then set then reduced the stick amount to 50% this gave the right amount trim with the same movements on the sticks

type 'rodborough + air' into a smart internet TV to  find it; it has lost some sharpness in the processing

or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BrNff2moeA from a PC, go full screen with F11 and choose 1080p res

Sunday

A good morning at Frocester, a gentle breeze getting stronger during the morning, the lift went light at times making us scratch for lift
The wind was light enough for libellees to be flown and lift enough for my 1/4 scale model

5 & 6   Woodspring Wings Model Aircraft Club Show 2014
5th-6th July 2014

The Woodspring Wings Model Aircraft Show has been a regular fixture on the flying calendar since shortly after the club began in 1989.  It has since grown to be the biggest model aircraft show in the South West, and attracts around 5000 visitors each year.  Held over two days on 5-6 July, the show features all-day model flying displays by some of the country’s top pilots, many traders  and of course food and drink to suit all tastes.
