Slope soaring
Monday
DG1000 popup motor Strong lift at Haresfield Tuesday The lift was not good as the wind was on Frocester Sqeela's Artist, Adam's DG600 and Shadow, and Andy's Esoarer on the common
Wednesday Sqeela's K8 on Selsley Thursday When the lift was good it was very good this afternoon at Frocester. When it was bad it was definitely not very good. Occasionally the wind would get very cold and the lift seemed to get turned off. With a bit of luck managed to stay up sometimes, other times just made it back to the slope for a hurried arrival. Guy was there too, and a wildthing with some one flying it, sorry didn't get your name. Still a pleasant afternoon, beats working anyway. Friday Selsley was superb this afternoon until the hailstorm spoiled the lift after a 10 minute storm. Nice thing about hail is that you can brush it off your clothes before it makes you wet... It takes a while for the wind to sort itself back out after the storm but it seemed to do so as I left for the afternoon - having wafted N then W and finally back to god old NW! I counted 14 glider guiders - all chuffed to get back on the
tump....Poor old Big Bear!
Saturday My starlight and Andy's Starlight 2000, flying on Selsley Sunday Had a good fly at Frocester. The winds were strong and almost on
the point resulting in lift all over the LZ. I "grew a
pair" and chucked off my U2 and was able to pull basic aeros as
the lift was so good. Also flying was Scot, the gent Sparky Ben and
I met last weekend. Unfortunately, his Wildthing get caught up in
one of the trees just beside the road. I don't know if he rescued it
but it was so high up the tree I think it may still be up there.
