Computer nerd bit

I have been sent many phishing emails, some are very good

the only way I have spotted them is by looking at the source code

They usually have domain names like http://www.mail.paypal/.........

The address should be https://www.paypal.com/................

The true link address can only be seen in the code

NEVER EVER log onto ANY account with the included link in ANY email. NEVER!

At least once a week I get a "phishing" email from someone claiming to be PayPal saying my account has this or that problem. I forward ALL of them to PayPal who then reply with an email saying it's wasn't from them and not to log onto that link.

Details on the forthcoming winter comps I hope to run.

F
irstly the dates, We will hope to start on the 11th November, then Dec 2nd, Jan 6th and Feb 3rd. In the event of not being able to fly on the published date, then endeavor on the first suitable Sunday thereafter. A final call on the event taking place will be sent, at the latest, on the preceding Saturday afternoon by email

Type of comp:- All comps will be AULD, there are two main reasons for this-

a) It is an easy format to run

b) It gives participating pilots maximum flying time as we all fly together, hence no waiting around for a predetermined slot.

All Slots will be of maximum 10 minute duration.

We will fly the maximum number of slots that we can fit in (perhaps allowing for 1 discard if agreed by all). There will be a short break after each 3rd slot to enable batteries to be checked/changed etc. The Comp will start at 10:30 and the last slot will be the one that can be started before 13:00 (finish time can be altered to suit on the day). Any model may be flown as long as it can be classified as glider (either pure or electric powered). Winch lines to be 150 metres long, e−gliders to be restricted to 150 metre launch height and 30 second motor runs.

Entry fee the same as last year - £2.00 - no inflation increase here!!!!

All monies will go towards prizes.

New photos for September see picture viewer  slide show

The flat field duration local record stands at 1 hour 9 minutes for this year by Sqeela with his Electric Shadow. on Minchinhampton common from 150 metre launch.
My AVA did a longer flight but was flown by 4 people

This is for hand launched, bungee or one short motor run on a flat field without the use of slope lift

Adam holds the HLG record at 14 minutes

The local height record for this year is held by Chris Bishop at 2953 feet attained at GMFC
