Tubby Day's memoirs of an obsessive aeroplane hater

Found this the other day, I found it interesting, especially as it reminded me of my "moment of fame"!!
The other pages might interest "old timers" like me!

Monday

I flew at the Standish field in the afternoon the lift was OK but the breeze a little strong for my model; longest flight 28 minutes
I was very impressed by Mike Frith's Spitfire and Bulldog, see http://www.glos-mfc.co.uk/blog/blog10/july10/july10.htm for more

The evening at Selsley started OK but the lift faded as the wind went slightly easterly, Michael's Discus struggled in the poor lift, but made a brave effort

Sunday
Mostly good lift at Haresfield, loads of lift but a little cold with the odd spot of rain

Photos; Peter's B2 and some deer in the valley see video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHMktMWHg94

I got there just before 2 pm to join Phil and Tony and were joined later by Andrew (Tiger) and Christine. The lift was, as you say, strong and smooth. It's a great pity that such a good slope (the bowl) has little or no where to land, limiting most to foamies.

Phil put my Slipstream into a tree (blamed me for distracting him by shouting 'watch the b****y trees Phil') and I later put it in the trees behind the slope 'flying Christines Zagi' and wondering who's was that Slipstream that just flew backwards overhead into oblivion? A long time since I've flown 'the wrong model' and laughed at many others who have done it.

The trees were kind, the model found twice after a brief search. Another good afternoon....
