Help Needed

Dear Members,

The school of David Gurr, one of our younger GMFC members, is having a day of making model aeroplanes under the BMFA Dart Education Programme (see www.bmfa.org/education/kits.html).

They would really appreciate some help from experienced modellers (that’s you!). This is your chance to pass on those skills and enthuse the next generation!

Of course, it’s on a school day so many of you will be at work, but if those of you who aren’t can consider sparing an hour or two, it would be a real help to the school. The children you’ll be helping are roughly 10 years old.

The times when the school needs helpers are on the 7th February 9.30-11.45 and 1.30-3.00.

 The school address is

Park Junior School Elm Road

Stonehouse

GL10 2NP

For anyone who is willing to help, please contact the school directly at admin@park-jun.gloucs.sch.uk stating you are willing to help Year 5 build their BMFA darts and give the time slot you can attend.

It would also help if you could let me know if you’re going.

 Thanks.

The UK Fairey Aviation Company, Ltd. developed the VTOL, 44 passenger Rotodyne airliner more than 50 years ago. This revolutionary "Gyrodyne" concept holds great promise for the future in the form of runway independent airliners which could eliminate much of the airport runway congestion facing today's airports and travelers. Frocester  low cloud/fog had rolled in and it was really windy and cold. You could fly Zagi type stuff, but if you go too far out you'll lose sight of the model. It's also pretty bumpy.
