£40 for seniors members (includes BMFA membership and insurance)
£17 for Junior members (includes BMFA membership and insurance)
£8 for associate members (these members must already have BMFA membership privately or associated with another Club)

Your insurance cover will expire on 31st December 2013, so make your cheques payable to "SCSA" and enclose a stamped addressed envelope. Don't forget to include any other details including your name, address, BMFA number and email address then send it to:-

Mike Brinkworth, 12, St Bartholomews Close, Cam, Dursley, GL11 5UR

The committee remains unchanged from last year.
We had an excellent general knowledge quiz after the meeting hosted by Doug Garland.

The Boxing-day pylon race will be held as usual at 9:30 for 10 o'clock start. Pete Wolfenden will be running the comp assisted by Brian Boucher.
The comp will be held on the windward slope, Pete will select the slope at about 8am on Boxing-day. If you get to the slope and Pete is not there, then you will be in the wrong place. If in doubt ring Pete  on 07761199123 after 8:15am on the day.

January 15th at 8:00pm at the BGGC Club house bar will be the Paper Aeroplane competition.

Here is what the manufacturer has to say.
sun.JPG (172772 bytes)

Sunbird 60” – a Lot of sailplane in a small attractive package

Produced from CAD design and CNC generated moulds, this little/big sailplane was designed with a range of possible flyers in mind from novice to expert.

I designed it to be very transportable – basically, disassembled it can fit on a car parcel shelf, so it is very convenient to carry around, but at the same time I wanted to make an airframe that in expert hands could really perform.

The aerofoil section is probably quite advanced for this kind of plane and gives a very wide speed range and possibility of operation in a wide range of wind conditions.

Sunbird flying panels and control surfaces are large enough to be effective in almost any conditions, while the flaps make it possible to land the plane slowly and safely even at small flying sites.

Added to that, the radio bay is large enough to enable installation of the servos and radio pack without resorting to micro surgery, while the fuselage and in fact the whole plane still has a pleasing and balanced shape. Remember: “If it looks good, it flies good” – and that really is true with this little whizzer.

Flight tests in a wide range of conditions have revealed a very good turn of speed, high maneuverability, no bad habits, and very controllable landing characteristics.

For the expert and novice alike the Sunbird represents a lot of “big” sailplane features in a small attractive package.
Design By RCRCM Aero Team.
Specifications:
Wing span: 60” (1.52m)
Wing section: RC series
Length: 0.9m
Weight: 600g
Controls: Ailerons, Flaps, Elevator
