Monday

Tuesday

I flew at the GMFC, the lift was light, I spent the afternoon practicing landing on a spot at near to 10 minutes, on 4 flights I failed to stay up for ten minutes, a common problem in old age.

I gave the club a gas hob and Paul Andy and Jon fitted it; it's great to be able to make a cup.

We need another propane cylinder, small enough to go under a work surface, red with a female thread

Wednesday

The wind was a little too strong  for us to fly and enjoy the HLG contest, it did not take place

Thursday

Friday

I had one good flight on Minch with my Shadow

The wind increased in the afternoon, I tried flying at Selsley but changed to Frocester where we had some strong lift

Saturday

That was a gusty afternoon!  The sustained gusts were pushing me back   from the slope edge. (Frocester) My unballasted Slipstrean penetrated  well and managed some of my twirly bits. While practicing close in flying
>> (tentative landing approaches) I rediscovered the technique of  Bushbraking. Parking in a small oak tree can be quite convenient.

Next up my heavyweight Hai. It flew well in the strong wind. Whenever  some one came to admire the view I took the Hai way out and let her soar  up as high as I could get her. When the hill top was clear I brought her  down to play a bit closer in. Landed in the same tree, but she snapped a  few twigs off it on her way through.

Sunday

Around 09:45 I thought maybe it wouldn't rain after all, so headed to Selsley with a Bluto.  In my haste I forgot the ballast, but it went OK anyway.  The lift was very good but a bit turbulent at times, and having also put my gloves and other cold weather gear away for the 'summer' it was a case of five minutes flying and 10 minutes for the fingers to warm up.  Andy's Salto went well, Ben's HP18 had a dodgy left aileron servo so didn't get to fly.  Mike's VoltiJ was performing some creditable knife edges (for a glider) and my Bluto survived a high-speed pylon turn into the ground, only needing ironing to remove the creases.
